The Yuanshang Site in Jinhua has been selected as one of Zhejiang province's top 10 important archaeological discoveries of 2025.

The site, located in the southern part of Qingtangxia village in Bailongqiao town, Wucheng district, covers approximately 50,000 square meters. Based on geomorphological features and the distribution of cultural layers, it is divided into southern and northern terraces.

Archaeologists have determined that Neolithic remains at the site date back 10,000 years, with the most recent dating to around 4,000 years ago.

The site's first phase is attributed to the Shangshan culture, a Neolithic civilization that flourished from 11,000 to 8,500 years ago in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the country's southeastern coastal regions. There is a distinct boundary between the early and middle-late settlements, a phenomenon observed for the first time within the Shangshan culture.

The second phase, associated with the Kuahuqiao culture, a Neolithic civilization in northern Zhejiang from 8,000 to 7,000 years ago, is predominantly located on the northern terrace, while the third phase has revealed relics, including tombs, ash pits, and trenches.
