Zhejiang announces major archaeological discoveries for 2025
Ten major archaeological discoveries in Zhejiang for 2025 were unveiled at a review meeting held in Hangzhou from Jan 29 to 30.
The discoveries are: the Yuanshang site in Wucheng district, Jinhua; the Jiangqiaotou site in Yuyao county-level city, Ningbo; the Zhaojiadun site in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou; the Xin'an site in Changxing county, Huzhou; the salt production site cluster in Jintang town and Daishan county, Zhoushan; the Jizhong and Hechangfang sites in Yuecheng district, Shaoxing; the Guotang'ao kiln site in Jiangbei district, Ningbo; the Fenghuang Mountain kiln site in Linhai county-level city, Taizhou; the Shenni Pagoda site in Xihu district, Hangzhou; and the No 7 mausoleum site of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) imperial tombs in Yuecheng district, Shaoxing.
The selected sites, listed in chronological order, highlight key stages in the region's cultural development and provide new evidence for understanding ancient societies in East China.
