Zhejiang invites visitors to celebrate Spring Festival at museums

Zhejiang province has launched a province-wide program inviting the public to celebrate Spring Festival at museums, with a series of exhibitions and cultural activities scheduled throughout the holiday period.
The 2026 edition of the Celebrate Chinese New Year at Museums program was launched at the Zhijiang campus of Zhejiang Provincial Museum in Hangzhou on Jan 30.
At the launch event, Zhejiang Provincial Museum presented exhibitions including Chinese Stories through Shadow Puppetry and organized interactive activities for visitors.
During the holiday, museums across Zhejiang are set to roll out 244 themed exhibitions and host 2,185 cultural activities related to traditional Chinese New Year customs. Activities are designed to combine exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and educational programs, targeting various audiences.
Museums across the province will focus on themes related to the Year of the Horse, presenting locally curated exhibitions and activities aimed at highlighting regional traditions and cultural heritage.
