Dragon dance brings festive joy to Huzhou

Qianyuan town in Deqing county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province, came alive on Feb 28, as the 26th North Zhejiang Qianlong Lantern Festival kicked off.

Twelve dragon dance teams paraded through the streets, creating a lively spectacle in anticipation of Lantern Festival.

Lantern Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the first month on the Chinese calendar, which falls on March 3 this year. It's a time for reunion and joy and also marks the end of Spring Festival celebrations.

This year's event features a series of activities, including dragon dance parades, lantern displays, and a themed market. It offers a variety of cultural experiences and revives the traditional customs of the region.

The dragon dances, with their intricate movements of weaving, leaping, and twirling, captivated the audience and elevated the festive atmosphere to new heights.

The festival not only celebrates the cultural heritage of the area but also brings the community together in a shared celebration of tradition and joy.
