A delegation of 101 high-quality textile foreign trade enterprises from Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, participated in the Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and Textile Technologies (VIATT) recently held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Organized by the Shaoxing Municipal Commerce Bureau, the delegation secured 122 booths at the event, with an estimated on-site transaction value exceeding $30 million.

The fair brought together exhibitors from 21 countries and regions, covering the entire textile industry chain. As part of Shaoxing's strategy to expand its presence in the ASEAN market, local textile companies showcased distinctive products including functional fabrics, fashionable printed materials, and high-end home textiles. Professional buyers from Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries flocked to the Shaoxing pavilion to engage in negotiations.

Vietnam is Shaoxing's core trading partner within ASEAN and represents a significant growth driver in the global textile industry. The rapid development of Vietnam's textile and garment sector has generated strong demand for upstream fabrics and raw materials, creating opportunities for Shaoxing's textile enterprises to expand overseas.

A representative from the Shaoxing Municipal Commerce Bureau said that the city plans to organize 200 trade delegations this year, facilitating over 2,000 overseas exhibition appearances by local businesses. While consolidating traditional markets in Europe, America, Japan, and South Korea, Shaoxing will focus on helping enterprises explore emerging markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, promoting the diversified development of foreign trade.
