Humanoid robot training ground launched in Ningbo
A major project for humanoid robotics has recently been launched in Cixi Future Industry Park in Ningbo, Zhejiang province. The project is China's first humanoid robot training ground based on the open-source OpenHarmony operating system.
Led and operated by leading domestic robotics company Leju Robot, the project involves a total investment of more than 30 million yuan ($4.35 million). It aims to build nine real industrial scenarios — including home appliances, automotive manufacturing, textiles and commercial services — to collect real-machine data and develop practical applications for humanoid robots.
Through these simulated yet realistic environments, the training ground will establish a closed-loop system integrating algorithms, data and robotic skills. The goal is to accelerate the transformation of data resources and technical achievements into industrial applications.
The facility will adopt a hybrid network architecture designed to solve challenges related to low latency and high uplink transmission, significantly improving the efficiency and quality of data collection.
Looking ahead, the project also plans to create a one person company entrepreneurial incubation community centered on humanoid robot applications. By opening its facilities and resources to independent developers and small startup teams, it will support low-cost experimentation and rapid market testing.
The initiative is expected to help advance the intelligent upgrading of local manufacturing and promote the development of a "robotics plus industrial chain" cluster in Ningbo.
