A Lantern Festival cultural parade took place on March 3 in Jinyun county, Lishui, Zhejiang province, serving as both a historical pageant and a vibrant display of folk traditions, integrating local intangible cultural heritage with the Year of the Horse.

The parade featured five themed groups, showcasing elements from ancient imperial ceremonies to local opera and lantern displays.

Traditional Wuju Opera took to the streets, with enthusiasts performing as the legendary heroine Mu Guiying, while exquisite lanterns, including 50 colorful fish-shaped ones, created a romantic and auspicious atmosphere.

The grand finale was a 500-meter-long dragon lantern, carried by 530 villagers, symbolizing the enduring vitality of cultural heritage.

This annual event aims to enrich public culture and promote tourism by showcasing Jinyun's unique traditions.
