Saiou Cookware in Ningbo's Qianwan New District produces gas cylinders tailored to the needs of African households, where reliable cooking fuel is an everyday necessity.
The company's factory in Andong town operates at full capacity. On the ground floor, cylindrical cylinders pass through shaping, filling, and quality testing before shipment. Upstairs, machines produce pressure regulators and other accessories, ensuring a complete, compatible product line. Saiou has focused on gas cylinders, regulators, and stoves for over a decade, and in 2025, exported more than 2 million cylinders to Africa and the Middle East.
Africa's energy landscape presents both challenges and opportunities, with limited pipeline gas coverage meaning many households remain in a transitional stage from wood or charcoal to liquefied gas. With a high population and steady growth, the continent has a consistent demand for small, reliable gas cylinders.
Saiou's products are designed with these conditions in mind. Round cylinders suit local storage and transport methods, and a range of sizes — from smaller, affordable models to larger cylinders with full accessories — meets the needs of different income groups. By producing both cylinders and all related components in-house, the company maintains strict quality control, manages costs efficiently, and responds quickly to market changes.
This combination of localized product design and full supply chain control has positioned Saiou as a leading supplier in overseas markets. The company continues to expand into Africa while exploring additional markets in Latin America and the Caribbean, connecting Ningbo manufacturing with families who depend on safe, accessible cooking fuel every day.
