Officers from the Zhoushan entry-exit border inspection station in East China's Zhejiang province introduced a new online accommodation registration policy for crew members of the Cameroonian-flagged vessel Nelsa on March 26, assisting international visitors staying outside hotels to complete the registration process on their smartphones.

Russian Captain Lyshko Yaroslav of Nelsa expressed his satisfaction, noting that in the past, crew members had to disembark to register their accommodation. Now, they can complete the registration in just a few minutes aboard the ship.

The policy, which allows international visitors to register their temporary accommodation online rather than visiting local police stations, was initially implemented in Hebei, Liaoning, Zhejiang, Hubei, Guangxi, Chongqing, and Sichuan, and will be gradually expanded nationwide based on the pilot program's success.

Zhoushan processed over 134,000 temporary accommodation registrations for international visitors in 2025, with the introduction of this new policy expected to increase this number, bringing greater convenience for more than 10,000 crew members visiting Zhoushan each year.
