Cycling fever returns to Quzhou's Kaihua county
Kaihua county in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, once again became a hub of cycling enthusiasm as the third Qianjiangyuan Road Cycling Race — combined with the Heros Cycling Series Hongjing Fengdu-Kaihua Station — kicked off on March 29.
The event attracted over 1,800 cycling enthusiasts from around the globe to this picturesque county, renowned for its lush landscapes and vibrant atmosphere.
With a forest coverage rate of 81.41 percent and consistently high levels of negative oxygen ions, Kaihua offers a refreshing natural environment. Its beautiful rural roads link scenic villages and tourist attractions, and the course combines demanding climbs with fast, straight sections.
Participants raced along a 119-kilometer ecological track, with elite cyclists pushing their limits and casual riders enjoying the stunning spring scenery.

As the final sprint concluded, the crowd erupted in applause. Men's elite group champion Vladislay Sozinov, drenched in sweat, said, "I love Kaihua. The scenery is beautiful, and the audience is enthusiastic. I hope to come back."
The event's vibrant energy extended far beyond the race itself. Spectators lined the streets, creating a festive atmosphere, while the cultural tourism market buzzed with activity, as visitors and cyclists sampled local delicacies and specialties.
According to Kaihua's bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism, and sports, the three editions have attracted over 50,000 tourists, with tourism revenue expected to exceed 20 million yuan ($2.89 million).
