Zhejiang province has built more than 17,000 rural reading rooms, hosting over 100,000 reading events each year.

Known as "farmhouse reading rooms", these public spaces are set up in villages and largely managed by residents.

They provide free access to books, newspapers, periodicals, and audiovisual materials. Each site is required to hold at least 1,000 books and subscribe to more than 30 types of publications.

In Kecheng district of Quzhou, more than 100 such reading rooms have hosted over 2,000 activities since last year, reaching more than 100,000 visits.
