A truck operated by a local logistics company in Yiwu, Zhejiang province, departed on April 28 for Uzbekistan under the TIR system, with customs clearance support from Yiwu Customs throughout the journey.

The vehicle left the Yiwu Express (Cross-border) Supervision Center, exited China via the Irkeshtam port in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, crossed Kyrgyzstan, and is set to arrive in Uzbekistan.

TIR, short for Transports Internationaux Routiers, is an international customs transit system that allows goods to be transported across multiple countries with simplified procedures and fewer inspections at borders.

The shipment marks the first TIR operation handled by a Yiwu-based company with TIR certification and the city's first route to Uzbekistan via the Irkeshtam port.

Irkeshtam, a key land port on the China-Kyrgyzstan border, is an important gateway for China's westward trade. The new route is expected to strengthen logistics links between Yiwu and Central Asia and support growing trade.

Yiwu has built a multi-country TIR road network, with eight routes passing through seven border ports and reaching major markets in Central Asia and Europe. The entry of local companies is expected to improve operational control and help deliver goods faster and at lower cost through door-to-door road transport.
