Delegation from Oakville, Canada, visits Ningbo
A delegation from Oakville, Canada, visited Ningbo in Zhejiang province on May 12.
Xu Ya'nan, deputy director of the standing committee of the Ningbo municipal people's congress, welcomed the delegation and introduced Ningbo's economic and social development. She noted that local-level cooperation serves as an important bridge for China-Canada friendship and expressed hope that the visit would further strengthen mutual understanding and expand practical cooperation between the two cities.
Xu highlighted the strong complementarity between the industrial structures of Ningbo and Oakville, saying the two sides hold significant potential for collaboration in trade and investment. She encouraged more capable Ningbo enterprises to explore opportunities in Oakville, while also welcoming Oakville businesses to visit Ningbo, seek partnerships, and expand economic exchanges.
Xu expressed her hope that the two sides could enhance cooperation in tourism, culture, and education to promote closer people-to-people ties, strengthen exchanges between local governments, legislatures, and councils, establish long-term communication mechanisms, and explore the possibility of building a formal sister-city relationship in the future.
