US youth experience cultural charm in Huzhou

A group of students and teachers from Gateway Technical College in the United States has arrived at Huzhou College in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, for a cultural exchange event.

The event, titled the US Youth "Beautiful China, Dynamic Huzhou" YES Program, is part of the Ministry of Education's Young Envoys Scholarship (YES) project.

The opening ceremony featured captivating performances showcasing traditional Chinese culture and Huzhou's local charm.

Students from Huzhou College sang the Chinese pop song Big Fish and performed a guzheng (traditional Chinese zither) piece, highlighting the city's allure and the university's emphasis on aesthetic education.

At the opening ceremony, Shen Yuedi, vice-president of Huzhou College, extended a warm welcome to the visitors, emphasizing how youth serve as bridges for cultural exchange.

She expressed hope that the event would provide a platform for Chinese and US youth to learn from each other, deepen mutual understanding, and foster friendships, paving the way for future cooperation.

Representatives from Gateway Technical College expressed their gratitude to Huzhou College for hosting the event. They introduced the college and expressed hope of enhancing teaching exchanges and cooperation through this event.

Over the following days, US students and faculty engaged in classroom interactions and cultural experiences with their Chinese counterparts, further exploring the essence of the slogan "Beautiful China, Dynamic Huzhou".
