Zhejiang province will launch a new grassroots air volleyball tournament, the 2026 Zhejiang Urban-Rural Air Volleyball Open, with the opening stop scheduled in Qujiang district of Quzhou from June 5 to 7.

Known as "ZheVA", the competition ranks as Zhejiang's latest provincial-level sports event. It follows a five-stop format comprising four qualifying rounds and the final.

The tournament aims to promote mass participation and strengthen links between urban and rural communities through sport.

The event logo combines the letters "VA" with volleyball imagery and net elements, while the yellow-and-blue color scheme represents energy, inclusiveness, and teamwork. The tournament slogan, "Driven by passion, united across urban and rural areas", highlights its focus on accessibility and community participation.

The competition is open to air volleyball enthusiasts across Zhejiang, including teams from cities, counties, towns, universities, industry groups, and sports clubs. Both men's and women's divisions will be held, with participants grouped into youth, middle-aged, and senior categories based on age.
