A Zhejiang China-Europe freight train bound for Afghanistan departed from Yiwuxi Railway Station in Jinhua on June 8, carrying daily goods, hardware, appliances, and home products.

This train, which employs a market-based procurement model for customs clearance that significantly reduces logistics costs, establishes a direct trade corridor between Zhejiang and Afghanistan, a country that relies on imports of daily consumer goods due to its underdeveloped light industry.

Over the past decade, the Zhejiang China-Europe freight train service has developed 27 international rail routes, reaching over 160 cities in 50 countries and regions, thanks to Yiwu's robust market base that facilitates international trade flows.

The service will continue to integrate freight trains, market procurement, and cross-border e-commerce, transforming Yiwu's advantages into tangible outcomes in international trade, supporting Zhejiang's high-level opening-up.
