Chazhuling village in Lishui's Suichang county has been named one of the first 100 Beautiful China travel points and is the only site in Lishui included on the list.
Located in northwest Suichang, about 60 kilometers from the county seat, the village sits at an average altitude of over 800 meters with a forest coverage rate above 90 percent. Its abundant ecological resources and cool summer climate are among its most notable advantages.
In recent years, Chazhuling has used the Mountain-Sea Collaboration Project to upgrade local agritourism, wellness retreats, and campsites. It has developed an industrial system that integrates village collectives, farm stays, and local households, boosting collective income and farmers' earnings.
In 2019, the village introduced Fengqiao peaches from Nanhu district in Jiaxing to develop specialty agriculture. It has since established a 150-mu (10-hectare) high-altitude peach plantation, generating 100,000 yuan ($14,761.24) in annual operating income for the collective.
The village has also prioritized rural tourism. By improving the environment and infrastructure, it has built a brand as a high-altitude summer retreat. The number of farmhouses and homestays has grown from four to more than 20, providing over 300 beds and receiving more than 2,500 visits each year, with annual revenue approaching 700,000 yuan.
With the growing popularity of camping, Chazhuling has established a 10,000-square-meter mountaintop camping base in Laohuyan natural village, complete with viewing platforms and a children's playground. Visitors can enjoy sunrise, sea of clouds, and sunset views.
Thanks to the Mountain-Sea Collaboration Project, the once-remote village has become a popular destination for eco-agriculture, wellness, and camping. The village collective's income has risen from under 50,000 yuan to over 600,000 yuan.
