A commercial painting common prosperity workshop in Dagangtou town in Lishui's Liandu district, produces hand-painted works in the "Lishui Barbizon" style. These are shipped to over 70 countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, and the United States.

However, the industry faces several challenges, including a short industrial chain, weak original design, and limited market access. Chen Yaoping, head of Zhejiang Lingch Fine Art, said that local decorative design firms were lacking, and that outsourcing to distant companies was costly and inefficient.

To address the design gap, a skilled local team visited creative hubs such as Yiwu and Shenzhen. After multiple trips over six months, they succeeded in attracting a young, market-oriented design firm.

Impressed by the town's strong industrial foundation, the firm settled in Dagangtou town at the end of 2025, becoming the area's first original design studio for commercial paintings.

The team also secured a booth for Lingch Fine Art at the Canton Fair through persistent efforts with commerce departments. At this spring's fair, the company signed 3 million yuan ($443,498.63) in intended orders from over 20 new international clients within five days.

Looking ahead, Dagangtou town plans to develop a commercial painting industrial park that integrates local resources and fosters a clustered, globally connected industry.

The skilled team will continue to strengthen the oil painting, tea, and tourism sectors through professional training and regional collaboration.
