A new "zone-port linkage" model completed its first operation on June 26 in Jiashan county, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, boosting cross-border logistics efficiency in the city.
A shipment from Bangladesh arrived at Jiaxing Nanhu Airport before being transferred to Zone B of the Jiaxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone. After completing customs clearance in less than 30 minutes, the cargo proceeded to Shanghai's Waigaoqiao port area for shipment to the United States.
The new bonded transit process allows goods to move through the bonded zone without paying import duties or value-added tax, reducing costs and improving cash flow for businesses. It also offers greater flexibility by allowing cargo ownership and destinations to be adjusted while the goods remain in the bonded zone.
The milestone highlights closer integration between Jiaxing Nanhu Airport and Zone B of the Jiaxing Comprehensive Bonded Zone under the "zone-port linkage" model. By combining bonded services with air cargo logistics, this model streamlines international trade and strengthens Jiaxing's role as a regional logistics hub.
