Morning light highlights Wuzhen's historic waterways
Xizha Scenic Area in Wuzhen, Jiaxing, East China's Zhejiang province, was bathed in soft morning light on June 26, revealing the tranquil beauty of one of China's best-preserved ancient water towns.
Home to numerous well-preserved buildings dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911), the town offers visitors a glimpse into the architectural and cultural heritage of Jiangnan, the region south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
In recent years, it has also gained international recognition as the permanent host of the World Internet Conference.
At the beginning of summer, Xizha's peaceful morning landscape showcases its unique character, where historic architecture and waterways remain at the heart of daily life.
