Quzhou's GDP rises 6.2 percent in first half
Quzhou's GDP reached 120.37 billion yuan ($17.76 billion) in the first half of 2026, up 6.2 percent year-on-year, according to data released by the Quzhou municipal statistics bureau.
Value-added industrial output from industrial enterprises above the designated size — those with annual main business revenue of at least 20 million yuan — rose by 9.6 percent year-on-year.
Among key industrial sectors, value-added output in computers, communications, and other electronic equipment manufacturing jumped 62.2 percent, followed by electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing at 24.6 percent, specialized equipment manufacturing at 16.1 percent, and chemical manufacturing at 11.7 percent.
Total retail sales of consumer goods reached 51.91 billion yuan, up 0.7 percent.
The city's foreign trade totaled more than 47.9 billion yuan, up 17.8 percent year-on-year. Exports rose 15.1 percent to 33.61 billion yuan, while imports increased 24.6 percent to over 14.29 billion yuan. Exports of electromechanical products, including batteries, surged by 97.2 percent.
Exports to the European Union reached 6.37 billion yuan, up 73.8 percent, while exports to countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative rose by 21.3 percent to more than 21.36 billion yuan.
Per capita disposable income reached 39,831 yuan for urban residents and 20,636 yuan for rural residents, up 4.4 percent and 5.0 percent year-on-year, respectively. The ratio of urban to rural residents' per capita disposable income narrowed to 1.93.
