Flight UO212 arrived at Yiwu Airport at 4:20 pm on July 16. Two foreign passengers obtained visas at the airport's port visa counter and entered China. This marked the first time a port visa authority in a county-level city in Zhejiang had issued such visas.

Port visas are mainly available to foreign nationals who need to enter China urgently and do not have enough time to obtain visas from Chinese embassies or consulates abroad. Applications can be accepted, reviewed, and approved on arrival.

Yiwu recorded more than 830 billion yuan (about $122.63 billion) in imports and exports in 2025, received nearly 700,000 visits by overseas businesspeople, and had more than 10,000 foreign-invested business entities.

Since last year, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Public Security has worked with the National Immigration Administration and coordinated with border inspection, foreign affairs, health, and other authorities to improve services for foreign nationals.

Following approval by the State Council and an on-site inspection and authorization by the National Immigration Administration, Yiwu Airport began offering port visa services in May.

Foreign nationals making short-term visits for business cooperation, exchanges, investment, entrepreneurship, family visits, tourism, or other private matters may apply with valid international travel documents and materials showing an urgent need to enter. Diplomatic and official activities are excluded.

Yiwu also implements visa-free entry and 240-hour visa-free transit policies.
