The wooden toy industry in Yunhe county in Lishui, Zhejiang province, has entered its peak production season, with assembly lines running at full capacity to fulfill overseas orders bound for more than 80 countries and regions.

In the first half of 2026, Yunhe's total exports reached 960 million yuan ($141.75 million), up 30.4 percent year-on-year. To seize global market opportunities, local authorities have been guiding enterprises to expand overseas.

Over 60 Yunhe businesses participated in major trade fairs such as the Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, Nuremberg International Toy Fair, and Canton Fair in the first half of 2026, showcasing wooden toys to global buyers.

On the service front, Yunhe has tailored support measures to address export challenges, including trade integration meetings, compliance training sessions, and business forums, to explain export procedures and standards, help mitigate risks and improve operations.

To overcome logistical constraints in mountainous counties, Yunhe deepened cooperation with Zhejiang Seaport Logistics Group, expanding rail-sea intermodal transport. In the first half, over 150 high-cube containers were shipped via this route, boosting efficiency and cutting costs for local exporters.

Looking ahead, Yunhe plans to strengthen support systems, increase subsidies for exhibitions, innovation, and compliance, and nurture new trade models and market players. It will also consolidate traditional markets and explore emerging ones to ensure the sustained, high-quality growth of its foreign trade sector.
