Jiaxing Nanhu Airport in Zhejiang province launched its third international cargo route on July 26, connecting Jiaxing with Los Angeles and further expanding its role as a specialized air cargo hub in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Since its first international flight on May 28, the airport has launched routes to Dhaka, Budapest, and Los Angeles, handling 89 inbound and outbound cargo flights and more than 2,200 metric tons of imported and exported goods in two months.

As the first specialized air cargo hub in the Yangtze River Delta region, Jiaxing Nanhu Airport aims to complement surrounding airports by providing faster, more flexible logistics solutions for regional industries.

The airport is also developing a multimodal transport network combining air, rail, road, and sea services. Before the launch of the Los Angeles route, international truck services from Jiaxing began operating to Almaty in Kazakhstan and Hanoi in Vietnam, offering a lower-cost alternative to air and sea freight.

The expansion comes as Jiaxing's foreign trade continues to improve. In the first half of the year, the city's exports increased 11.2 percent year-on-year, while cross-border e-commerce exports reached 36.85 billion yuan ($5.46 billion), up 80.5 percent.

Supported by a designated airport economic zone spanning 147 square kilometers and growing logistics infrastructure, the city aims to build a regional aviation logistics hub that links global markets.
