The first-ever IEEE IES Summit China 2026, organized by the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), was recently held at Yongjiang Laboratory in Ningbo, marking a new milestone in international academic and innovation cooperation.
This was the society's first Regional Summit, bringing together nearly 70 experts and scholars from around the world to exchange ideas on industrial electronics, intelligent manufacturing, and other cutting-edge fields.
China's selection as the first destination for this new regional cooperation initiative highlights the growing importance of closer connections between global technology resources and local innovation ecosystems.
Participants visited research facilities and companies incubated by Yongjiang Laboratory, gaining insights into its research platforms, major achievements, and innovation ecosystem. They also held discussions on intelligent manufacturing, advanced equipment, and new materials.
The summit provided a valuable platform for international experts to explore opportunities for joint research, shared research infrastructure, and technology commercialization, while further strengthening Ningbo's connections with the global innovation community.
