A Zhuque-2E Y4 carrier rocket assembled in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, sent 10 satellites into orbit on Oct 14 to test technologies for space computing, satellite internet, and high-speed laser communications. Launching from the Dongfeng commercial space innovation pilot zone in Northwest China, it marked the 10th flight of the Zhuque-2 rocket series.
LandSpace, a Beijing-based commercial rocket maker, manufactured and tested the rocket's engines at its propulsion manufacturing base in Huzhou, Zhejiang province. Powered by liquid oxygen and methane, the two-stage rocket can carry 6 metric tons to low Earth orbit and 4 tons to a 500-kilometer sun-synchronous orbit.
LandSpace coordinated its installation positions and separation sequence to accommodate satellites of different weights, shapes, and sizes. The launch came just 29 days after the Zhuque-2E Y7 mission and marked the company's fourth high-density launch since May.
