Qingtian county in Lishui, Zhejiang province, has leveraged its unique advantages as a hometown of overseas Chinese to advance the "European flavor, made in Qingtian" development path.

Companies producing salami, ham, and Western candies have flourished, bringing authentic European flavors into local production. Recently, Zhejiang Yikexin Import & Export Trading began mass production of Spanish-style salami, exemplifying the integration of overseas trade and local manufacturing.

Inside Yikexin's workshop, workers strictly follow European standards in procedures, including meat filling, hanging, and fermentation to recreate genuine Spanish flavors.

The company, which began operating at the end of 2024, focuses on the R&D, production, and sale of European-style meat products, including Iberian salami, roasted sausages, and ribs.

According to the company, a new production line will be introduced, along with imported Iberian pork, to produce Iberian sausages. The new line is expected to yield about 800 metric tons annually, with an output value of 30 million yuan ($4.39 million).

Thanks to authentic flavors and strict quality control, the company's products have successfully entered well-known sales platforms and supply over 200 supermarkets nationwide. Sales are projected to exceed 30 million yuan in 2026.

Qingtian is continuing to promote the integration of overseas trade and local manufacturing, turning European flavors into locally produced goods that enrich Chinese dining tables and boost the local economy.

Moving forward, the county will further optimize its business environment and policy support to attract more European food companies.
