Chinese javelin sensation Yan Ziyi added another title to her impressive season by claiming victory at the Wanda Diamond League in Oslo, Norway on June 11.

The Ningbo-born athlete secured the women's javelin crown with an opening throw of 67.11 meters, finishing a remarkable 5.19 meters ahead of second-placed Norwegian thrower Sigrid Borge. Yan made only two attempts, also recording 64.81 meters, before opting out of her remaining throws due to the cold and windy conditions at the seaside venue.

Despite the limited number of attempts, Yan's winning mark underlined her consistency at the highest level. The 67.11-meter throw ranks as the second-best result in the world this season. The year's top mark also belongs to Yan, who stunned the athletics world at the Diamond League in Xiamen in May with a throw of 71.74 meters. That performance shattered the Asian record, the world U20 record, and the Diamond League record.

According to coach Lu Xiurong, the team's target in Oslo was 67 meters, a goal Yan achieved on her very first throw. Lu praised the young athlete's adaptability and determination, noting that she is still adjusting to life and training in Europe after arriving earlier this month.

Yan will continue her Diamond League campaign in Paris, France on June 28 and Monaco in July, with additional major competitions scheduled later this year.
